Rabbinic Interns Laura Baum and Ana Bonnheim
Laura Baum is a fifth year rabbinical student at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC). She is now serving in her second year as one of the rabbinic interns at Beth Adam. Laura graduated from Yale University with a B.S. in Psychology. Prior to attending HUC, Laura was the rabbinic intern at Congregation Mishkan Israel in Hamden, Connecticut for two years
While at HUC, Laura has also served as Student Rabbi of Congregation Gates of Prayer in New Iberia, Louisiana, the United Hebrew Congregation in Terre Haute, Indiana, and Congregation B’nai Abraham in Portsmouth, Ohio. She also worked as the education director of Crane Lake Camp in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. Laura is a part-time chaplain at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and a volunteer at Fernside, a center for grieving children. Laura was born and raised in North Haven, Connecticut.
Ana Bonnheim is a fith year rabbinical student at HUC-JIR and a Rabbinic Intern at Beth Adam. While at HUC, Ana has served congregations in Greencastle, Indiana and Grand Junction, Colorado. She worked as an intern in the Department of Youth Programs, programming weekends that bring high school and college students to HUC for weekends of academic study. Ana has also served as a rabbinic legislative assistant at the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism and has long loved Jewish summer camping. This summer, she worked at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center as a chaplain intern.
Before matriculating to HUC, Ana earned a B.A. in religion from Dartmouth College. She grew up in Dallas, Texas.
