Shabbat Services

Congregation Beth Adam offers different Shabbat service experiences.

Our Shabbat Service that begin at 8:15 PM includes the reading of Beth Adam's original liturgy and a conversation among those present led by Rabbi Robert Barr.  Prior to the service at 8:00 PM, there is a short Kiddish (sharing of challah and wine) when people can chat and meet one another.                                                                                         Upcoming Shabbat Services:  September 20, October 25, November 15 and December 13

Shabbat Gathering is designed for members of all ages, adults and children alike. Led by Rabbi David Burstein, the evening begins at 6:30 PM with a dinner. The congregation usually provides pizza and everyone attending brings a side dish or dessert to share. After dinner, there is a joyful service with music (instruments and song), readings, and stories. Following the service, adults and children are invited to visit Our Village and conclude the evening there.       Upcoming Shabbat Gatherings:  September 6, November 1, and December 27

Shabbat Reflection is led by Rabbi David Burstein. These Shabbat experiences blend meditation, mindfulness and a deep dive into Beth Adam's liturgy. Shabbat Reflection will occur approximately once per quarter and will begin at 8:15 PM. Prior to the start of the reflection, there will be a short Kiddish (sharing of challah and wine) at 8:00 PM  Upcoming Shabbat Reflection:  October 18

For those who cannot attend our bricks and mortar Shabbat Services, Beth Adam's regular streaming Shabbat Services are only a click away.  While Beth Adam's bricks and mortar services are twice/month, our streaming services are every Shabbat at 6:00 PM (Eastern Time).   You can join Rabbi Barr and others from around the world for streaming Shabbat services.  You can watch the services live or in the archives for viewing at your convenience. If you participate live, you can "chat" with others who are also attending services.  Rabbi Barr is always excited to have other rabbis, clergy, and educators participating in services with him. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to celebrate Shabbat even as you travel.
